Local agencies are working to increase access to transportation to connect veterans, active military, and their families with services and destinations they use often.
The first phase of the program is to provide information on websites like IE511. Later phases will include a website, mobile application, and access to a live operator that can assist you with transportation information and more through your local 2-1-1 service. Stay tuned for new developments.
For general transit trip planning, use the IE511 Bus/Rail Trip Planner to the right.
While these services are being developed, IE511 will still help get you where you need to go. The services below are organized in two ways. The first section is organized by those providing specialized transportation services for Veterans and for Persons with Disabilities. These fares are often discounted. The second section provides information on VA and military base destinations on regular transit service routes. Further assistance with route planning is available by calling the appropriate transit agency.
Please be aware, most specialized transit services require applications, many of which must be submitted in person. Many of the services are also available to seniors without disabilities. Reservations for specialized transit service must be made in advance and advance reservations vary for agency to agency.
